Tipping Culture is OUT-OF-HAND...sometimes

Tipping has become a huge point of contention as it seems everyone turns a screen around expecting a tip, sometimes for just doing their job. Your barista, butcher, auto mechanic, pilot and we're only half-kidding

That said, when it comes to a tour or experience like leading a group on a winery or pub crawl, the driver or guide can really add to the experience. With us at Damn Good Transportation, we hope that our drivers, who are highly vetted to be friendly and personable, provide such an experience that you actually WANT to tip them.

We never build-in gratuity to your booking because as consumers ourselves, we believe you shouldn't tip before a service is provided. Logically, the experience should be provided, THEN, if you feel inclined, gratuity is always appreciated.

Every group is different for a variety of reasons: length of booking, ease of booking, the amount of interaction with the driver and more.

Our gratuity tends to average out around 15%-25% per outing, but again, we never force it.

We can't speak to all other companies in Asheville, but many larger ones do built-in gratuity for their own reasons but as we described, we feel better about the way we do it and hope that we provide such a great experience, you feel good about tipping.
